The impetus for the HB Academics team came from faculty at Harvard and Stanford Universities who became aware of the concerns expressed by upperclass undergraduates who had admissions or professional exams to prepare for. In response, a highly dedicated, and professionally advanced group of teachers was structured to provide students with accurate, well-informed, effective, and cost-efficient matriculation advisement. In the broad spectrum of exam prep services, the HB Academics team elected to focus on custom, individualized instruction, because their experience demonstrated that intelligent application of specialized expertise was provided the optimal return on investment for the majority of the students. In the inception period we received requests from students who barely spoke English, individuals who had failed an exam several times before seeking HB Academics help, high-profile, normal, and individuals who were not satisfied with workshop size courses. Out of care for our students, we respectfully created individual plans, custom syllabi and curriculum, and devised a highly flexible teaching format (flexible time, site, and level) to promote our students to the best of our abilities. The results in the pilot study where pronounced. The majority of our students succeeded, and that included students from a diverse spectrum of academic tier of training, life challenge, social-economic standing, profile, and perceived intellectual ability. The result was more accurately prepared and competant future professionals. The initial success at HB Academics allowed for the expansion of the range of services, national site support, and our most recent expansion to communities abroad. At HB Academics, we are the 'complex teachers'-we handle the unusual cases very well, and we also handle the routine cases with aplomb. Our focus is to make students more competitive through integrated pursuits.
